The price floor and suggested prices
Taji warns you before you sell below cost, and it suggests new prices when a supplier’s cost or a payment fee changes. Nothing changes until you approve it.
What the floor is
Section titled “What the floor is”The floor is the smallest margin a price should keep over its cost after payment fees. The screens show it as 15% floor.
Payment fees count because you pay them on every payment. Taji counts the most expensive way to pay you have switched on. The line reads Fees counted: with that provider’s name, for example on Cost and margin.
Each payment connection’s Payment fee is what Taji counts. Set it on Settings › Payment gateways. A provider’s conversion fee is never counted in the floor. Neither is the fee to send a refund.
Where you see it
Section titled “Where you see it”| Screen | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Cost and margin on a product | Cost, price and margin per cycle. A row is marked Below cost or below the floor. |
| Domain pricing | Each extension’s cost, margin and prices |
| Set prices from a markup | A warning when your markup is below the floor. You must tick to set those prices anyway, and this is recorded in the audit log. |
| Invoices | A Below cost flag on any invoice that went out under its cost |
| Suggested prices | New prices worked out from your markup, never below the floor |
Suggested prices
Section titled “Suggested prices”When a supplier’s cost or a payment fee changes, Taji works out a new price from your markup. Taji emails the Owner and Finance.
- Go to Catalogue › Suggested prices. The Waiting tab lists prices to approve.
- Each row shows the price Now, the Suggested price and Why it changed.
- Tick the rows and choose Approve 4 prices (the button counts what you ticked). Or open a row’s menu and choose Approve this price or Dismiss.
- Enter the Code from your authenticator app. It is asked every time prices are approved.
These prices are used for new orders and for each customer’s next renewal invoice. Invoices already sent do not change.
Only Finance or the account owner can approve or dismiss prices. The Approved, Dismissed and Replaced tabs keep the history.
Competitor prices
Section titled “Competitor prices”The Competitor prices tab shows prices your staff typed in, and prices found on competitor pages you listed. Choose Add a competitor price to add one. They are shown beside your prices and never change a price.
Invoices below cost
Section titled “Invoices below cost”If an invoice went out at a price under its cost at the cautious rate, it shows Below cost. The Owner or Finance opens it and chooses Acknowledge…. It goes in the audit log with each line’s price, cost and rate, and the invoice leaves the below-cost list.
To find them, filter Invoices by Below cost, not acknowledged.
