Cancel a service and refunds

You can stop a service at the end of the term you paid for, or straight away.

  1. Open the service from Websites and choose Cancel this service.
  2. Under Timing, choose one:
    • At the end of the term: your site stays online until that date. Nothing more to pay.
    • Right now: your site and email go offline today. The screen says what comes back to you.
  3. If you like, choose a reason under Why are you leaving? (optional).
  4. Choose Confirm cancellation.

The screen may offer a smaller plan first. Choose Keep my hosting if you change your mind before you confirm.

Your domain is separate. It stays yours and keeps its own renewal date.

You see Request received. A person confirms it, usually the same day. Auto-renew goes off and nothing more is charged for the service.

Download your files and email before the service stops. After that date your host removes them and cannot bring them back.

Changed your mind? Choose I changed my mind · keep my hosting while the request is waiting.

When you choose Right now, the screen tells you which of these applies:

  • Nothing is refunded.
  • The amount comes back to you in full, once approved.
  • The unused months go to your wallet as credit, once approved.

Which one you get follows your host’s refund policy. You can read it on your host’s shop. A domain transfer you cancel, or a restore the registry refuses, is refunded to your wallet.

Your role may not allow cancelling. The screen then says Your role cannot cancel services. Ask the account owner to cancel it.
